Introduction

The model explores the impact that meeting DH targets for caseload and throughput in Assertive Outreach, Crisis Resolution and Early Intervention Teams will impact on existing services, particularly CMHTs, acute services and supported accommodation. It also takes into account the development of primary care mental health teams. In the full model inputs and outputs are identified for each of the three localities across Cheshire as well as in an aggregated form. This online version just presents the Cheshire-wide outputs.

The model consists of a number of steps:

1. A model run that indicates outputs for the baseline position without the development of functional or primary care teams.
   
   
2. Step 2 - allows the impact of new functional teams to be explored.
   
   
3. Step 3 - looks at the impact of enhancing the roles of primary care mental health services.
   
   
4. Step 4 - allows experimentation with all the inputs.
